Overview
BYOKBOT ("we", "us") provides a hosted platform for AI chatbots where you connect your own LLM API keys. This policy describes what data we collect and how we use it when you use our website and dashboard.
Information we collect
- Account data: email address, name, and authentication credentials you provide at signup.
- Chatbot configuration: bot settings, knowledge base content, integration credentials, and encrypted API keys you store in the dashboard.
- Conversation data: messages between your site visitors and chatbots, including optional lead capture fields (name, email).
- Usage data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and reliability.
How we use your data
We use collected data to operate the service, authenticate users, deliver chatbot responses, provide inbox and integration features, and improve platform reliability. We do not sell your personal data.
API keys & encryption
LLM API keys and integration credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. Keys are used server-side only to process chat requests on your behalf and are never exposed in embed widgets or public pages.
Third-party services
When you configure integrations (e.g. Slack, Calendly, Shopify) or connect LLM providers, data may be transmitted to those services according to your configuration. You are responsible for complying with each provider's terms.
Data retention & deletion
You may delete chatbots and associated data from your dashboard. Account deletion requests can be sent to support@byokbot.com. We retain data only as long as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations.
